Bucharest is the capital city as well as the
industrial and commercial center located on the banks of the
Dambovita River in Romania. Nicknamed "Paris of the East" for

Railways : Bucharest is at the center
of Romania's national railway. If you need to catch a train to
any of the main cities such as Prague or Budapest, the main
station would be the Gara de Nord.

Airports : The city is served by two
airports, the Henri Coanda International Airport or
Otopeni and the Aurel Vlaicu International Airport or

Roads : The road network in Bucharest
is characterized by a number of high capacity boulevards. The
majority of traffic is supported by the main axes and one
internal and an external ring road. Romania's two expressways,
the A1 and A2 both start from Bucharest.

Places to Visit
The Palace of Parliament is the largest
building in the whole of Europe and the third largest in the
world. Besides housing the nation's parliament, it also includes
the National Museum of Contemporary Art. Originally named the
House of the People or Casa Poporului, it has 1100 rooms and 12
stories. Build by order of the communist dictator Nicolae
Ceausescu, he never saw it's completion, being overthrown by the
revolution and executed in 1989. |

Nightlife
Nightclubs in Bucharest are dispersed and therefore one has to
drive down to a selected club of choice or recommendation. One
of the reputed ones is the Laptaria Enache, or the Space Club,
Fire Club or Club A. Music scene in Bucharest is electric. |
